Welcome to my Red and White Christmas Home Tour! This year’s tour is going to be short and sweet because you know 2020! I wanted this years Christmas decor to be classic and festive. Adding pops of red seemed like the perfect way! In the past, I have typically steered clear of red for Christmas as I usually use more silver and gold tones. However, I am absolutely loving the crisp pop of red against all the white in our home.

Dining Room
Let’s start the Red and White Christmas Home Tour in the dining room. I kept the table in our dining room super simple with just a fur table runner and two gold deer statues flanking a beautiful floral centerpiece. Inside the vase is a handful of white hydrangeas and green pine stems. I added red berry stems for a pop of red. The buffet table was dressed in gold cone trees and my favorite Santa figurine.
Living Room
Christmas Tree
My Christmas Tree in the living room is from King of Christmas. It is a 15-foot King Flock with 2000 LED lights and it is such a beautiful tree. I just love the flocking and the fact that it is pre-lit is awesome. Putting up a 15-foot tree is no small task so I appreciate that the lights and flocking are already in place.
To go with the Classic Red and White holiday theme, I used all white ornaments and white poinsettia picks. For a subtle pop of red I simply used red berry stems and tucked them in to the tree. I love the look in this space. It looks so magical and majestic.
I love to add gift boxes and bags under the Christmas Tree for a full look all season long. I use the same boxes each year and change up the look by adding ribbon. This year I chose a thick red ribbon for a classic Christmas vibe. These are mostly empty at the moment, but as gifts start coming in I fill the boxes and bags.
I added more red to the room through throw pillows on the couch and chairs and also a cute navy and red plaid lumbar pillow. Lots of cozy blankets soften and add warmth to the space.
Mantel
The fireplace mantel is dressed in a gorgeous flocked pine garland. Four strands of garland were tied together to create a fuller look. A tutorial showing how I did this last year is saved in my highlights on my Instagram page.
I added some red berries to the garland after I hung it and love the simplicity of it. The garland is strung on the front of the mantel rather than on top. I used about 8 command hooks to hang the garland.
This year, I kept the top of the mantle clean and simple with classic gold candlesticks so the beautiful art on the Samsung Frame TV can steal the show. It is an arial shot of a winter road and snow covered pine trees. The art piece is a digital download that I found on Etsy and was able to upload to my TV. I love having the ability to customize the art this way and Etsy is a great place to find unique pieces for the Frame TV.
The red Merry Christmas banner hanging on the front of the fireplace below the garland actually came as one long piece. To make it fit better, I cut the two words apart and strung them one on top the other. I hung the stockings on either side of the banner. The bright white stockings are quilted and trimmed with gold. There are cute white tassels hanging from each one. The stockings are hung using clear command hooks. I clustered my favorite white ginger jar, gold hurricane lanterns and a white planter holding red poinsettias on the hearth. I love love love the look with that crisp pop of red.
Coffee Table
The coffee table is another easy place to add holiday decor. This year my gold mercury glass trees add a little glitz and glamour to the space. I filled a ginger jar with white hydrangeas and pine stems with a few red berries. I didn’t get close ups of my shelves this year, but you can see I kept some of my blue and white ginger jars and just added my favorite white Christmas decor in to make it cohesive.
Kitchen
Next stop on the Red and White Christmas Home Tour is our kitchen. We are always at our kitchen island so that is the first place I decorate. I almost always use a tray of some sort to set up seasonal displays and vignettes. This year I used my favorite blue and white ginger jar and filled it with faux amaryllis, ranunculus and pine stems. Adding berry stems like I did in the living room ties the two spaces together. I also included a gold textured tree candle beside the ginger jar.
I tried keeping the kitchen as simple and clean looking as possible. My kitchen has a ton of white and I wanted the red to pop as much as possible. I also wanted to keep all my blue and white ginger jars on display.
Most of the holiday decor I used in the kitchen I’ve had for many years. One of the new things I added this year is the Merry Christmas sign that I placed on the range hood. I flanked it with potted faux pine trees. I’m not typically a sign person, but the red in this one was calling my name and I actually love the holiday vibe it brought to our kitchen.
I didn’t switch much up on the kitchen shelves besides adding some pine greenery and red berries on two of the shelves and switching out a few decor pieces for holiday themed decor.
Breakfast Nook
I created a simple tablescape for the holidays inspired by this beautiful Serena and Lily spread. The blue and white centerpiece drew me in and I knew I could create something similar and still add pops of red.
I lined my table with my favorite white table runner with gold tree designs on it. For the centerpiece I used a blue and white ginger jar from my collection and added faux white hydrangeas, amaryllis, pine stems and red berry stems. I ran additional pine stems with pinecones and red berries down the table. Rather than the beautiful curly trees in the inspiration picture, I used White Christmas tree candles I had on hand along with traditional candlesticks and gold votives. Two teardrop pine swag with holiday bells and red ribbon hang from the candle lanterns. I always have white pillows on the bench seat but adding a pop of red amongst them tied it all together.
Porch and Patio
I didn’t add any red to my front porch simply because the poinsettias died before I could get a picture. However, imagine the pops of red nestled in with the trees and presents beside the bench. It really was pretty. Next time I’ll use faux since Texas tends to be a little warm in winter and the sun hits this spot straight on.
My back patio got lots of red though. I love the red pillows on the couches and the poinsettias on the hearth, coffee and console table. The red and navy plaid blanket also adds warmth and ties in the blue and white planters. We love spending mild winter nights out here with the fire going.
Thank you so much for joining me for my Classic Red and White Christmas Home Tour. I hope it was helpful and that you found an idea or two for your own holiday home. From my family to yours, I’m wishing you a happy, safe, and healthy holiday season!
